OUR STORY
We met like so many people do these days online, but we didn’t hit it off right away. As we talked we noticed we had a lot in common. We were both huge nerds and pop culture fiends. So we became friends and then coworkers Our journey together really began amidst the bustling world of events. Sharing a passion for creating unforgettable experiences, we discovered a profound connection beyond our professional roles, which deepened over countless hours spent side-by-side. As the years passed and we learned more and more about each other, we couldn’t imagine a life without each other. Together, we explored new horizons (literally), both in our careers and in our lives. Through shared laughter, challenges, and adventures, our affection for one another blossomed into love. We are now thrilled to embark on this new chapter as an engaged couple. Our next step will be tying the knot in Japan. We hope the future will hold many more new horizons for us.
JAPAN TRAVEL INFO
Traveling to Japan might seem a little daunting if it's your first time. We've got some advice which we have cultivated from our own trip, along with some helpful things you too can do to prepare for the international journey. Namely, flights and in country travel to consider to get to Kyoto, options on shopping for flights at just the right time, best practices for getting around the cities with your luggage, finding your way around the sites.
Once our wedding invitations are sent out we'll go more in depth into travel tips and the full wedding schedule, but for now here's some of the basics.
KYOTO - KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
Shopping For Flights
We highly recommend signing up for a Going account, so that you can set alerts for when tickets go on sale from your preffered airport(s) of departure to the country or airport of interest you're planning on. Sign up for a Going account HERE.
Which Airport Do I Flight Into?
While Kyoto has no international airport, Osaka and Tokyo have options. If you choose to fly into Tokyo (either Narita or Haneda), a domestic flight to Kyoto is your option for in country travel, or the exciting ride on the Shinkansen Bullet Train. Osaka is much closer in country to Kyoto, and travel to there is about the same in planning.
What About My Luggage?
If you're planning on visiting Tokyo or Osaka first before (or after) the wedding, we highly recommend luggage forwarding services. This will help moving around the country with ease so that you can spend more time on enjoying the experiences of Japan, and not worrying about randomly finding yourself in a subway terminal with no elevators.
Find Your Way Around.
It can be a little intimidating wandering the streets of Japan when you don't know the language, but Google is your friend! Google Maps is extremely comprehensive when using Street View, and will also aide with train times and platforms.
